Order Only: Private message to Sally-Anne and Madam Pomfrey

Lana Sandoval had the Gryffindor prefects slip calming potions to all the younger Gryffindors this morning.

But apparently the Headmaster also dosed EVERYONE with calming potions. Not a full dose, though, I guess just a little bit.

Is that dangerous to the younger Gryffindors at all? Being dosed twice? Walburga Hornby fell out of her chair at lunch and someone carried her to the Hospital Wing. The rest are having a lot of trouble staying awake.

In high doses, calming potions can suppress breathing. It doesn't sound like they had that much but it's not at all surprising they look very tired or even a bit like they're drunk.

Anyone who really can't stay awake should be taken to the Hospital Wing. Don't let them go flying or practice duelling. It should wear off in a few more hours.

Quite right.

There are potions to counteract an overdosage of calming draught. However, I believe that under the circumstances, I hope Healer Patil will simply admit anyone brought to him for care. Perhaps he could see to it that some of them stay safely tucked away on the ward.

At any rate, that would be my inclination. I suppose I can't guess what he may or may not think to do.

How are you, my dear?

If you can think of that might be needed, let me know and I will make a delivery via Hogsmeade.

Well, I'd say the calming potion I didn't know I'd had has been doing its job very nicely as I feel a lot calmer than I did last night after dinner.

I wish there were a potion that made people better at occluding. That's what I'd put in everyone's drink. Fortunately I don't think we have all that much to worry about there. First of all, everyone was already extremely anxious about exams, so the first thing He's going to overhear out of people's heads is exam stress and that potion they're trying to memorise and so on. Second, everyone's constantly thinking about how awful that dinner was when He made all the Gryffindors lie face down and killed Madam Hooch, so that's the second thing He'll overhear if he peers into anyone's heads. Even if people are thinking 'oh no, he'll overhear my disloyalty!' it's probably just going to be random noise, you know? because the people who aren't actually traitors are just as worried as the people who are.

I hope that made sense. It's a good thing I'm not actually taking any exams today. He came to my Dark Arts class for a while, that was exciting.

If there were a potion for occlusion, I guarantee its principal ingredients would be unavailable in the Protectorate.

Mind you, if they could be had in France, we would now be raking in the galleons as the only suppliers of so highly wished-for a commodity.

I wish you a quiet and un-adulterated supper. And will be thinking of you all until I hear that nothing dire has happened.

Bless.
